  • Welcome
    • We welcome everyone to learn about our Youth Ministry here at St. Luke Parish. Our goal is to encourage youth in their Faith and to help build community. We also want to encourage youth to get involved in parish life as the NOW of the Church and not just its future. We desire to create a safe place for youth to meet and feel empowered to get involved and share their gifts and talents with the community. 
  • Who is our Youth Ministry for?
    • Our Youth Ministry is for ALL youth. Participants do not have to be Catholic or current members of St. Luke Parish. We have social activities and service activities for students in Middle School and in High School. 
  • Who we are?
    • We are a team of adults and youth who are dedicated to creating an environment for youth to come together to engage with each other and their Faith and grow in love for Jesus Christ. All adult volunteers are Virtus trained and have received a background check through the Archdiocese of Hartford. 
  • How to get information and stay involved?
    • Youth Ministry newsletters will go out bi-weekly. Please contact Michael Pavano to be added to our email list to receive our newsletters and regular updates about our ministry.

Youth Ministry Activities

  • Middle School Ministry
    • For Grades 6 Through 8
    • Social Events:
      • Game Night @ The Haven (With the Bible)
        • Weekly
        • Time: 6PM to 8:30PM
        • Location: St. Luke Haven 
        • Play games, build friendships, and explore what the Bible has to say for your life!
      • Sunday Mini-Retreats for Middle School Students
        • Different Days and Times during the Year
        • Time: 5PM to 7PM
        • Location: St. Luke Haven 
        • Throughout the year we’ll have events that go deeper in the Faith with guest speakers and special topics. 
  • High School Ministry
    • For Grades 9 Through 12
    • Social Events:
      • Sunday Faith Encounter
        • Twice Per Month
        • Time: 5:30PM to 7:00PM
        • Location: St. Luke Haven 
        • A night to encounter God, grow in faith, and connect with others.
      • Wednesday Faith Hangout
        • Once Per Month
        • Time: 6:00PM to 7:30PM
        • Location: St. Luke Haven 
        • A once-a-month social night to laugh, connect, and build friendships. We will also discuss and share the Faith in an informal environment.
  • Service Groups
    • The Summit at Plantsville
      • Join us once per month as we prepare and put on group activities for residents of The Summit at Plantsville.
    • Giving Back Food Pantry
      • Join us on Fridays as we pack groceries and on Saturdays as we distribute them to those in need twice per month. 
    • CCARC Card Maker’s Club
      • One Saturday per month, in St. Luke Haven, we make cards with individuals from CCARC of New Britain.

Youth Participation in Mass Ministries

If any of our youth are interested in participating in a specific Church ministry, such as in the roles of altar server, reader/lector, or greeter at masses, please contact Michael Pavano. We want our youth to be involved and included in all areas of parish life! Check out Altar Serving here!

Saint Luke Haven

Saint Luke Parish has raised over $6000 to establish a Youth Room for our young people. We’ve painted the area and furnished it with a brand-new television, couches, Catholic imagery, a foosball table, an air hockey table, an aquarium, and more. We’ve accomplished our goal of creating a comfortable and welcoming space for our youth to come grow in their Faith and build a lasting community. Located in the lower level of Saint Dominic Church.
