What is an ACTS Retreat?

An ACTS Retreat (a function of the ACTS Apostolate) is a Catholic lay retreat sponsored by a parish for its community that begins on Thursday evening and ends with Sunday Mass. The team of lay parishioners directs the weekend for fellow parishioners, with the blessing and support of the parish pastor. Team members and retreatants may come from other parishes or faith backgrounds, but this is a Catholic retreat.

How often are ACTS retreats held?

St. Luke Parish in Southington sponsors two retreats per year. There are other parishes in CT that also sponsor ACTS retreats. Currently, we are holding our retreats at Our Lady of Calvary retreat house in Farmington. OLC does not facilitate the retreat, it is just held there. A retreat team of parishioners and others who have already attended an ACTS retreat will plan and facilitate the weekend under guidelines set by ACTS mission.

Are both men and women on the same retreat?

No. They have retreats at separate times.

When is the next retreat?

Glad you asked that!  Our next retreat will be announced soon!
