About

Saint Luke Parish Prison Ministry teams visit inmates at the Cheshire Correctional Institution. On a rotating schedule, a Prison Ministry three person team visits inmates every Tuesday (arrive at 4:30 p.m.) and Thursday (arrive 5:45 p.m.) to meet with groups of inmates for Catholic Bible Study sessions.

Visits consist of two identical sixty minute sessions (Tuesday 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.) The Prison Ministry utilizes the Paradisus Dei (Paradise of God) That Man Is You Catholic Bible Study format. Each session will consist of a thirty minute video followed by thirty minute discussion based on the video. Paradisus Dei provides the videos and facilitator guides with objectives, goals, and questions to stimulate discussion.

Saint Luke Parish Prison Ministry members are all grateful for the opportunity to share their Catholic faith with the inmates, truly embracing the spirit of the Corporal Work of Mercy, “I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25:36)
